Check out my recipe blog!

I decided that although I like posting my raw recipes on My Raw Life blog, I feel like they get lost when I start posting other blogs unrelated to raw food preparing. So, I decided to create a blog specifically for my raw food recipes. It's called, Raw-Riffic Food Recipe Blog (http://rawrifficfood.wordpress.com/).

I have done my best to post (or will be posting) all the raw recipes I have shared so far, and of course new ones too. The blog is actually a part of my raw food website, Raw-Riffic Food (http//www.rawrifficfood.com/) so that visitors can link to it from my site as well.

Eventually I plan to add additional topics to the raw food recipe blog, such as posts related to raw food products, raw food recipe books, and raw food chefs. They will all be organized in an easy-to-follow way so that the recipes don't get lost. So I hope you take time to check it out, and maybe even sign-up to get updates. Also, your comments are always welcome!

For now, that's it. Hope you all have a fabulous holiday weekend! I'm so happy I don't have to work tomorrow! It will be a very nice "at home" Memorial day for me! Until next time!

Peace!

Debbie :)

My daily raw...what's happening?

Hello everyone! Hope all is well and blessed. A lot has been going on these days. I have been working on my website, Raw-Riffic Food adding lots of new content and resource links. I also created a new blog through WordPress, Raw-Riffic Food Recipes. I decided that I wanted a separate space for my recipes that could also link to my site. It's pretty cool, and I've already gotten a several hits.

I also have been doing a lot of reading and research, and listening to every podcast and web-show on raw food and the raw food lifestyle as possible. I'm learning quite a lot! With all this activity, plus my usual involvement with my son and his extra-curricular activities (band), as well as full-time work with Wisdom (makers of the first GRAS stevia sweetener - and the only one that is truly 100% natural, using pure water extraction - no chemicals whatsoever), I haven't had much time to create any new and exciting recipes, or blog about my personal raw journey. So here I am tonight, making an effort.

On the book front, I have sold several of my books, "Raw-Riffic Food's 101 Super-Charged Juices, Shakes & Smoothies" through the help of my husband. He has been showing it to people at his local gym. I may even have my very first demo through a contact from his gym. I'm waiting on my books to arrive before we can commit. So, that's pretty exciting for me!

Which leads me to another fun and exciting adventure. My co-worker Chip, is loaning me his Vitamix 5200. Wow! That baby rawks! I can't believe what a difference it makes in my smoothies and nut mylks! It is awesome! I truly hope to have one of my own someday. But for now, I will enjoy every moment I get to use this loaner. I will have the "Chipster 5200" for at least another 5 days. I will try to get my hubby to video tape me using it. It will be my first video clip to post (if we do it).

I also have been tasting and reviewing a variety of raw chocolates with some non-raw foodies at work. I had purchased quite a variety over the past few months just so I could taste them and share them with others, and give my opinion of them. There are quite a few yummos out there!

On another note, I have had so much raw chocolate over the past two weeks, that I am starting to really understand what Paul Nison is saying about it. Don't get me wrong, I will forever love and enjoy "raw" chocolate! But I definitely feel that raw chocolate is so potent - it is very much like a drug. I think it does have some benefit, but it's not something to take lightly or to consider the cure-all superfood. It's super alright - but in definite moderation. I'm starting to feel that way about my favorite Kombucha too. Since I don't drink anymore, or drink coffee, these two things really get me high when I have too much! I can sort of handle them on a daily basis for just a few days, then it starts to take it's toll. However, I could get away with having raw chocolate every day, as long as I make it using a small portion of chocolate. But having a whole bar every day leads to more within the day (it's addictive to me), and then the next thing you know I have had way too much! I am truly a raw chocoholic! No doubt about it! More to come on this subject.

Some of my reading has included books on the subject of the law of attraction - which I'm really into these days. It's really changing my life, and helping me have a new perspective. One that's closer to how I felt and lived when I was a young girl. There is definitely something to be said about being clear with your intention and being positive. It's outstanding!

Well, that's just a little glimpse into what I've been up to. Hope to write again real soon! Till then, take care! Peace! :)

What I've been up to (personal product reviews, web updates, life)

Hi everyone! I'm back - at least for today...lol!

I've been busy, as always. However, I thought I'd take some time out today to blog about what I've been up to. Besides being a very involved parent, employee, and wife, I've been busy updating my Raw-Riffic Website, trying out new and delicious raw convenience (or transition) foods, and raw chocolates, reading books, making raw foods, and finally publishing a revamped full-color printed version of my "Raw-Riffic Food's 101 Super-Charged Juices, Shakes & Smoothies"!

First up, about the raw transition foods I've been eating. Well, I've been watching The Raw Food World TV show daily. One of the episodes mentioned Kale Chips (Cheesy). Plus, I've really been into kale, and making my own kale chips with just sea salt, EVOO, and garlic. Well, these Kale Chips (Cheesy) mentioned on the show looked absolutely amazing that I just had to try them for myself. So, I ordered 1 bag - just 1 bag. My mistake. I should have ordered a couple of bags, cause when it came I ate the whole bag in just hours. Yes, just hours! They were RAWSOME! Oh, I also ordered these delicious Power Wrap - Curry too. Again, I ate them as soon as I got them. Well, these items were so good, I went ahead and placed another order for them. This time I stocked up. I hope to get them next week. Anyway, I couldn't wait, so I came up with my own version of cheesy kale chips. Except, mine are called red-bell pepper and basil kale chips. These were pretty darn good too! It should tie me down until my order is received! You should try them for yourself - seriously, they are GREAT!

Kale Chips (Cheesy), 3.5oz

Power Wrap - Curry

Next to the Kale Chips (Cheesy) and Power Wrap - Curry, I also recently discovered the most incredible raw chocolate bars ever! They are "Righteously Raw" bars and they are the bom! I found them at Wholefoods, but you can also order them online. There are 3 flavors I have discovered so far, Maca, Caramel, and Goji. Each one is chocolate heaven! My favorite is the Maca Bar!

I was so impressed by these bars, I decided to check out some more popular raw chocolate bars. I've been dying to try Shazzie's chocolate bars, so I finally did it, and ordered one of each flavor. I believe it was 7 or 8 in all. I hope to receive them soon so I can write about the ecstatic flavor I know they have! I'm also thinking about trying the chocolate bars from The Raw Chocolate Company that was featured on Angela Stoke's Raw Reform blog, and on The Raw Food World TV show. They look rawsome too!

I've been into making a lot of pates and salads lately. I've posted several photos and short recipes on Raw Fu. It seems to be the easiest way, and tastiest way for me to eat more truly raw food, and less "convenience raw food" or "raw junk food" as I call it (raw bars, dried fruit and nuts). I'd rather eat the raw junk food that real processed junk food - but I still need to make sure I fill up on live food - so pates and salads (next to smoothies of course) has been the way for me lately! Today I had fun, cause I took cucumbers and hollowed them out, stuffed them with almond pate and seaweed salad, then sliced them up like sushi rolls - boy was that ever yummy and pretty!

So, I finally "polished" and published a full-color printed version of my "Raw-Riffic Food's 101 Super-Charged Juices, Shakes & Smoothies". I'm so proud of it, being my very first published book. I put a lot of heart and soul, sweat and tears, and cashola to try to present a nice colorful book with information and great recipes to super-charge anyone who wants to try! Although I'm not a professional chef, or a nutritionist, or a photographer/writer, I do love creating and sharing things that interest me most, and that are helpful and healthful for others. I still have an e-book version (which has been updated too), along with the printed copy. You can find it at Lulu.com. Eventually it should be available through the distribution chains of Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, and others - but this process takes about 6-9 weeks. If you do check it out - I hope you enjoy it! Write me and let me know.

Well, being that I finished my book, and that I truly am interested in being more involved in this whole raw food lifestyle, I just had to update my website. It is still a work in process, but it is looking pretty good to me. I have changed up the design somewhat, and have added more categories. The site is mainly for information and resources. I hope you find your way there, and benefit from the site. Today I finished up a few pages of it, including the celebrities and entertainment page. There is always room to add more, but this is the start. Check it out!

As for books I've been reading...well, I recently finished The Raw Food Diet Myth. Wow, what a book! Heidi Ohlunder was right on with her review of this book. It is great! I learned a lot from it, and realized that I personally don't need to get too hung-up on some of the raw politics. I know what I'm in it for, and I know that it's helping me...regardless of whether or not I choose to be a 100% purest or not! Anyway, the information in this book is so valuable! I recommend this book to all rawfoodies - especially the newbies! I decided to go back and finish reading The 80/10/10 Diet, and Paul Nison's Raw Food Formula for Health. I want more information to see how I fit in to all this, and what I need to do for myself personally to get the most health benefit! As for my mind and soul, I recently finished reading Eckhart Tolle's Oneness With All Life: Inspirational Selections from A New Earth, The Strangest Secret - Book, CD Set and DVD Video Set (How To Live The Life You Desire), and now I'm reading The Law of Attraction: The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham. I find that these books keep me focused, and filled with peace and faith. I'm able to create more positive vibes through the teachings of these books, and from eating a high raw and living food diet. It's great!

Well, I think I've covered enough for now. I've gotta run and continue updating my site. Plus I want to do some sprouting (I'm still learning!). So, until next time - keep it raw!

Peace!

- Debbie :)

Super-Charged Smoothies

Well, it’s been just shy of 4 weeks since I released my very first eBook, “Raw-Riffic Food’s 101 Super-Charged Juices, Shakes & Smoothies”. I have felt very good and accomplished by my efforts. Now the challenge is learning how to spread the word in order to make it profitable as well. It’s very educational I must say. I would love to print the book, since it is so colorful, but that will take time and dollars before I can do so. In the mean time I’m learning all about Internet Marketing in the little spare time I have. It’s fun though! I always love learning new things and taking on new challenges. Part of my transition to raw is to also transition my whole persona, including career goals, family goals, and so forth. My transition to raw has definitely been leading me on that path – and I’m glad!

As I learn more about proper eating, high raw diets, lifestyle changes, and all that comes with this way of life, I plan to share more information and create more artistic, inspirational, and informational opportunities through books, products and the like. But for now I need to take one step at a time…lol. So, I’ll start with my new eBook, and my website, Raw-Riffic Food.

In case you want to know more about my book, Here's a sample, hope you enjoy it! (Just select the "sample" link.

If you liked what you saw so far, you can purchase a copy from my site, or from my blog (side bar ad), or through LuLu Publishing.

Thank you for your support. I’ll write more later – I need to get ready for work now! Have a fabulous day everyone!

Peace!

Rawkathon, website updates, personal achievements

Wow! I just finished watching/listening to the first night of the Rawkathon. Let me tell you what, it was absolutely fantasmo! I can't wait for tomorrow night's next set of interviews. I love listening to Mike Adams. That man has so much good stuff to say, and really makes you think! I was so glued to my computer when he was being interviewed. Then I got to hear Gabriel Cousens - another great Raw Inspiration! I'm telling you, I really got a lot out of this program! So many more to go!!!

If you haven't signed up for it, you need to do it right away! Seriously, you don't want to miss any more!!! It's worth your time, and it's FREE!!!

living and raw food experts

So, while I've been listening/watching, I've also been working very hard on updating my Raw-Riffic Food site, that I started over a year ago. I finally realized that I need to start focusing as much time as possible on doing the things that give me most pleasure, peace of mind, and have the most impact on my life and others. So, that's my deal...I spent most of today updating the Resource tab of the site. I literally spent about 5 hours on this. I know, wow! LOL...when you get the chance check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks...

On another note, you probably noticed that I recently released my first eBook called "Raw-Riffic Food's 101 Super-Charged Juices, Shakes & Smoothies...more than just a raw recipe book". Well, this is an endeavor that I've been working on for several months - and I'm happy to say that it's done, and I think I did a pretty darn good job. The book is colorful, informative, resourceful, and packed with 101 super-charged recipes! I think you will enjoy it! At least I hope you would! If you're interested, you can link here to purchase a copy, it's only $14.95 for the PDF eBook. Don't forget, that means you will need Adobe Reader to view the book. If you do take advantage, please send me your comments on what you think about it. I love feedback!

So, on another note, we are getting close to the end of Bunny's Raw-Fu 100-day challenge. Since starting the challenge I have lost more weight, and have stayed 100% vegan, and about 95% or more raw - I feel great! I'm down to 152 lbs., which means I have lost over 30 pounds since I went raw last year! Yeah!!! I can't wait to start the next challenge!

I know I haven't listed any recipes lately, and that I'm away from my blog more than I'm blogging - but the truth is I've been very busy with work, my son's school activities (band mom), and working on the book. Plus, we, like many Americans, have directly suffered from the hardships of our economy, so I've been dealing with that. But I'm hopeful and certain that we will get through this...just a matter of patience, faith, and action!

Well, it's late, and I need to get to bed a little early tonight. I've got a big week ahead! I will do my best to blog again real soon!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week!

Peace!

- Debbie
